This restaurant has a compact interior, with thick sofas and small tables that can be re-arranged to accommodate larger groups of friends. When I first entered, I noticed the symbols from the Thai script on the front wall and the aroma of lemongrass in the air. The atmosphere was calm.

There was a lunch meal deal available even on a Saturday, which is not very common. I ordered prawn on toast as the starter and Pad Thai with beef as the main course. The prawn on toast had a crunchy topping from the fried sesame seeds. The prawn paste itself was only lightly seasoned, but this was complemented well by the sweet chilli sauce served alongside it. The toast was crisp, although slightly chewy in places.

The Pad Thai was freshly stir-fried with a pleasant wok aroma. The noodles had absorbed the sauce well, making them moist without becoming overly wet. The sauce leaned towards the sweeter side, but I was able to adjust the sourness by adding the fresh lime juice provided. There was also a pleasant savoury aftertaste. The main criticism was that the beef was rather chewy.

The serving staff was not particularly talkative, but she was polite and attentive. For example, She refilled the water and checked whether the customers were happy with the food. Overall, it was a satisfying lunch that offered good value for money.

Blue Moon Thai Cafe is a great little spot that has a really nice local feel to it. It’s the kind of place you can return to again and again for reliable, good Thai food.

The lunch menu is especially good value, which makes it even more appealing. I’ve been a couple of times now and usually go for the pad Thai and chicken satay — both are consistently tasty and hit the spot every time.

Overall, it’s a simple, satisfying place with good food at a fair price. Definitely somewhere I’d come back to again.

We used to dine in and order takeaway from this Thai restaurant regularly before the pandemic, and we were always big fans. Recently, we decided to give it another try and we’re so happy we rediscovered it!
The food is just as delicious as we remember , full of authentic Thai flavours, fresh ingredients, and generous portions. Every dish we ordered was beautifully prepared, perfectly balanced, and packed with flavour. It really brought back great memories.
The takeaway service was smooth and efficient delivered , and the food was still piping hot when we got it.
It’s wonderful to see that the quality and care are still there after all these years.
We’ll definitely be ordering again soon. So glad to have this gem back on our list! Highly recommended.

As an avid lover of Thai food, this was really disappointing. I ordered from deliveroo for £45, which seemed way too expensive for what it was! The tom yum soup arrived watery and barely warm, lacking the bold, aromatic flavors you would expect. The drunken noodles were overwhelmingly spicy to the point where I could not taste anything else. Instead of depth and balance, the dishes felt overloaded with salt and chilli, almost like it was trying to mask how bland everything actually was.

The Singapore noodles were also disappointing, with raw carrots and onions that made the dish feel unfinished and poorly prepared.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience fell far short of expectations and was genuinely disappointing.
